Managing Your Mind... Strategies for a Happier, Healthier, More Productive Life
WNG Chairman's Forum
May 4 - Thursday
4:00 PM
6:00 PM

Please join the Washington Network Group when we convene our next WNG Chairman's Forum with Madelaine Claire Weiss, who will discuss with us "Managing Your Mind... Strategies for a happier, healthier, more productive life."

About this Session:

These days, just about everybody who's anybody is learning simple brain fitness strategies to restore and recharge the energy and clarity of the mind. Indeed, we count on the mind to direct our happiness and success. During this session, we will explore a new mindset, and you will acquire a toolkit of surprisingly simple strategies to use for both personal and professional advantage. You will learn how to become and remain more clear, calm, and productive in a happier, healthier way. Madelaine will discuss with us both theory and practice and will lead participants through a few short exercises. Her presentation draws upon her unique blend of education and experience in brain science, evolutionary and general psychology, Eastern and Western philosophy, and operational management techniques, to make this learning experience both easy and fun. And it only takes about an hour!

About Our Presenter:

Madelaine Claire Weiss

Madelaine is trained in psychotherapy and coaching via the Harvard system, and in organizational behavior and consulting at Boston University's Graduate School of Management. She studied negotiation via the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, has met the training requirements for both General Mediation and Advanced Divorce Mediation, and is a former group mental health practice Administrative Director/Treasurer/Psychotherapist. As Associate Director of the Anatomical Gift Program at Harvard Medical School (HMS), Madelaine spoke before the HMS Joint Committee on the Status of Women and designed and delivered programs for the HMS Center for Learning and Performance.

She now teaches mindfulness to individuals and groups, here in the DC area, based on her extensive and ongoing study of evolutionary psychology, philosophy, and the brain and behavior. Madelaine enjoys helping people to make their personal and professional dreams come true. In addition to her private practice, she speaks in a variety of corporate and organizational settings, is a chapter co-author in the Handbook of Stressful Transition Across the Lifespan (Springer, 2010), has co-authored numerous articles in both the Across-Species Comparisons and Psychopathology Newsletter and the Massachusetts Council On Family Mediation Quarterly, and is currently blogging and co-authoring a book titled Get a Grip: Negotiating Great Narratives in Work, Play, Love, and Life.
