Crisis Management in The Age of Citizen Journalism
Nov 7 - Tuesday
8:00 AM
10:30 AM

In an era when anybody with a computer and an Internet connection can publish what they view as news, including tweets and live Facebook posts citing unsubstantiated, incomplete or simply inaccurate pictures and “facts,” organizations are discovering the hard way the changing dynamics of crisis management.

In this interactive session, crisis expert Brian Ellis will discuss ways organizations can be better prepared to respond to a crisis in today’s digital world. Through live exercises that will place workshop participants in the hot seat, he will show how to manage the media onslaught, and better control the direction of the conversation.

Participants will leave with:

• A measure of their crisis preparedness based on four areas: their plan, their training, their team skills and their response habits.
• Actions to take to remain clear, coherent and credible in a crisis, and emerge with reputation intact.
• Three steps for nailing a contentious media interview.
