Doing Business with the Eurasian Economic Union

Dec 4 - Monday

2nd Annual Conference:

Improving East-West Relations

This year, The Eurasia Center and The Eurasian Business Coalition will organize a very special Conference which will highlight the new opportunities of Doing Business with The Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan). The Eurasian Economic Union officially formed on January 1, 2015. We are convening this Conference, given the high importance of understanding how the new Eurasian Union can improve opportunities and trade with centers of economic development, integrated into one of the largest single markets in the world, which unites more than 183 million people, with a gross domestic product of over 4 trillion U.S. dollars (PPP), duty free. A number of Fortune 500 companies are already trading in each or all of these nations and now their goods and services can be available within the common economic sphere that comprises 15% of the world's landmass. Belarus is accelerating its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Whereas Kazakhstan had acceded to the WTO on October 1, 2015; Armenia and Kyrgyzstan have recently joined the EEU. China, India, Vietnam and many other nations are reaching agreements for special trading rights with the Eurasian Union.

As former obstacles to trade are being removed in this vast free trade zone, its integration and understanding become important for the business to seize new opportunities. Panelists will address vital topics of business, trade, energy, finance and investments. Officials from Eurasian nations will offer new opportunities from the privatization of state-owned companies and other enterprises and strategic areas of investment in Eurasia's regions. The Conference will include presentations on energy and natural resources, high technology, mergers and acquisitions, economic development and public support for investments. The roughly $4 trillion Eurasian Economic Union was first proposed by Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan.

As always, large corporations, mid-size and small enterprises as well as entrepreneurs are involved in The Eurasia Center's Eurasian Business Coalition's efforts to build better economic relations and build bridges for peace and to create jobs for the future both in Eurasia and here in America. The Eurasia Center/EBC will propose several new solutions to the current crisis in East-West relations from this Conference. We hope you can join us in formulating new solutions for better relations…
