Immediate opening for a proven communications professional to develop and manage the external communications and publications programs for a fast-growing Capitol Hill non-profit dedicated to advancing the role of natural gas and other low carbon energy alternatives. Director will be the primary liaison with the news media, ad agencies and design groups; will also play a leading role in managing the organization's public profile and advancing policy work among key audiences.

Must have at least 5 years experience creating and implementing comprehensive communications and/or a publications plan with a successful track record (BA/MA degree in communications, journalism, English, public relations or related field preferred). Should also possess outstanding strategic planning, writing, editing and design skills; must also be conversant with Web 2.0 and new media tools. Experience working with an environmental or energy non-profit or on the Hill helpful. Coalition building and/or campaign work is a plus.
