Washington, DC based enterprise seeks motivated, accomplished professional to work with an established firm to launch a strategic intelligence and federal policy analysis practice serving clients in the financial services sector. Targeted clients include U.S. and foreign based investment banks, institutional fund management firms, hedge funds and private equity funds. Analysis will cover activities of the legislative and executive branches of the federal government and include the collection and analysis of both publicly available sources and human intelligence. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in both federal policy development and in equity evaluation and analysis. The position will require government or government relations experience, extremely strong communications skills (written and oral), the ability to think critically and creatively, and experience in high-pressure engagements. Candidate will collaborate with a strong team of 25 experienced federal policy professionals to provide accurate, timely and insightful information to clients seeking to understand the impact of federal policy and regulations on capital markets. This analysis/work product will be relied upon to inform high level investment decisions and mergers/acquisitions. Position is not expected to require registration under the Lobbying Disclosure Act.

Qualifications:

* Four to eight years of cumulative work experience on Capitol Hill, in the financial services sector (preferably in equity valuation), or in a senior policy role in the Executive Branch
* Advanced degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or public policy preferred but not required
* A solid understanding of business strategy, finance, and financial accounting
* A solid understanding of the federal political and policy-making process
* Demonstrated superior written and oral communications skills.
* Demonstrated capability for insightful analysis and research
* Extensive relationships and relationship-building skills in the federal policy and financial services communities
* Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and meet tight deadlines on short notice
* Must be an eager and entrepreneurial self-starter

Salary:

Position Job Responsibilities:

* Engage and communicate with experts within government and within the enterprise
* Create system and methodologies for efficient communication within the enterprise
* Set up and attend meetings, events, and conferences with clients
* Supervise the production of a weekly policy analysis product
* Interact with clients on a regular basis by phone and email
