Overview:

The director is Brailsford & Dunlavey's (B&D's) chief marketing officer and is responsible for directing the overall marketing, brand, sales, advertising, and corporate communication efforts of this rapidly-growing firm dedicated to facility planning and program management activities.


Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage a marketing strategic plan that outlines the strategies and resources necessary to achieve the growth and revenue goals set by the company. A thorough understanding of the facility planning and program management industries is required in order to tailor the plan to the company's specific objectives.
• Design, implement, and facilitate development of business/marketing plans for individual services within the facility planning and program management areas of the company.
• Analyze the trends and potential of new and existing markets. Develop strategies to maximize sales in these markets. Design management and monitoring systems that evaluate the firm's success.
• Supervise the planning and development of marketing and communication materials. Oversee the training of marketing and project staff on how to use such materials to effectively market the company.
• Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with individuals charged with procuring facility planning and program management services within government agencies, school districts, higher education institutions, and other enterprises so as to provide the company with an enhanced competitive position as it learns of and pursues business opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners, including architectural and engineering firms, contractors, developers, professional/trade associations, current and former clients, and specialty consultants.
• Train and coach project staff on marketing and sales strategies, material selection and preparation, interviewing, and networking.
• Prepare and administer the firm's marketing budget.
• Present and recommend marketing strategy changes to the owners. Act as subject matter expert to the owners and other executives on issues relating to corporate marketing, sales, advertising, and branding.
• Manage the company's customer relationship management (CRM) processes, including:
- Develop and oversee the marketing database that includes client and prospect information, mailing and e-mail distributions, etc.
- Conduct client satisfaction surveys.
- Oversee client development activities and special events.
• Develop and supervise "best practice" marketing protocols including soliciting RFPs from desirable prospective clients and writing proposals for new business. Participate in planning and presentation sessions as needed.
• Oversee corporate communication and civic activities, including:
- Internal and external communications.
- External vendors and consultants.
- Charitable contributions.
- Civic events.
- Public affairs.
• Oversee the firm's electronic marketing efforts including supervision of Web site design and maintenance.
• Supervise marketing employees and consultants as may be assigned. Make personnel decisions for marketing department employees.
• Represent B&D at various community and/or business functions to promote the company.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time by the owners.

Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or similar discipline required. Master's degree strongly preferred.

Experience

• At least 10 years in marketing or business development within the facility planning and program management professional services industry.
• At least 5 years of management experience required.
• Experience managing multi-state/multi-team marketing and sales efforts strongly preferred.

Technical Competencies:

• Solid understanding of the facility planning, design and construction industries.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, including CRM.
