Overview:

The Public Affairs practice at MWW Group, one of the nation’s top 10 public relations agencies, is seeking a Vice President to join our fast-growing office in Washington, DC. We are looking for someone who can step in to help manage energy and environmental issues, as well grow existing business and develop new prospects. You would be an integral part of a nationwide team of public affair professionals

Responsibilities:

Day-to-day responsibilities include providing strategic client counsel and account management, planning and executing issue advocacy campaigns, conducting media outreach, cultivating relationships with third parties, and writing a full suite of advocacy materials. The ideal candidate is a flexible, highly motivated team player and independent thinker with exceptional issue management and media relations skills.

Qualifications:

Intangibles: Smart, dedicated, team player, sense of humor, great attitude.

Core responsibilities: Develop and execute issue advocacy campaigns, lead new business teams, and network for new business opportunities.

Key capabilities: Extensive experience managing issue advocacy campaigns, working with national media outlets, leveraging the full spectrum of digital media tools, and writing exceptional materials.

Content expertise: Knowledge of the inner workings of Congress and the Administration, and strong contacts at Washington-based media outlets.

Other background: Candidate should have a minimum of 9 years experience working on Capital Hill, in the Administration and/or at a public affairs agency; background in journalism a plus. Top-notch writing skills, the ability to offer strategic counsel to senior management teams, top-tier federal contacts and excellent client management skills required.
