About Our Topic:

"Managing Crisis Communications in the Digital Era"

In this digital era, fast and effective crisis communications management has become a 24/7 concern.  A reputation or brand image is often at stake.  Timely action and responsiveness are mandatory.  The skill is to be prepared, regardless of what form a crisis takes.  Savvy advance planning and the ability for nimble responsiveness are imperative.

"Managing crisis communications in the digital era" goes behind the headlines for an inside look at effective crisis management and some fumbles.  In the frantic rush to use often confusing technology, we will examine the solid payoff of clear planning and effective communications plus what works best in social media.  While few crisis situations can be "controlled," we will detail how digital tools and elements of journalism can be used to more favorably manage media angles, "Googleability," and - ultimately - exceptional solutions and outcomes.

David Henderson is an author, Emmy Award winning former CBS Network News correspondent, and digital and communications strategist.  He's worked both sides of crisis situations - as a network newsman and crisis advisor.  He is president and owner of News Strategies LLC, a new kind of communications firm committed to helping CEOs and top executives transform and create competitive differentiation for their businesses and organizations.
