WNG Insider's Lunch - Fresh Insights on the European Union - Dr. Ulrike Guérot, German Marshall Fund

On Wednesday, February 11, 2004, the Washington Network Group convened a Washington Insiders' Lunch with Dr. Ulrike Guérot. Director Foreign Policy - Europe, German Marshall Fund - Berlin Office.

Dr. Guérot has made her career in European policy think tanks. In addition to her current position, Dr. Guérot previously served as Head of the EU-Unit, German Council on Foreign Relations, Berlin (FDP) (2000-2003); on the European Desk, Department of European and International Affairs, German Employer’s Association, Berlin (1999-2000); as Assistant Professor at the European Studies Department, The Paul N. Nitze School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University, Washington, D.C. (1998-1999); as Senior Research Fellow, Groupement d’Etudes et de Recherches ‘Notre Europe’ (presided by Jacques Delors), Paris (1996-1998); as Director of Communication, Association of the Monetary Union of Europe, Paris (1995-1996); and as a Staff-Member of the German Parliament, Commission of External Affairs (1992-1995). She has a PhD in Political Sciences in Germany, University of Münster (1995).

Dr. Guérot made opening remarks at the outset of our meeting, and then had an informal discussion with us over lunch.

This WNG Special Event was convened under our "Washington Insiders" program series, which is designed to provide meaningful opportunities for WNG Members and our special guests to develop their professional and business networks in the Greater Washington Region. Our attendees included representatives from the corporate, policy, and government sectors.

This "Members-Only" event was limited to 17 attendees.
