WNG Entrepreneur Roundtable
"How to Use Social Media to Promote Your Business"
News Release: December 2, 2014
On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, the Washington Network Group convened a WNG Entrepreneur Roundtable with John Gilroy, a long-time member of the Washington D.C. technology community, and creator of "The Computer Guys" on National Public Radio (WAMU 88.5 FM) and "Ask the Computer Guy" in The Washington Post.
John provided a comparison of the nine traditional methods of lead generation to the three phases of social media marketing: content creation, content distribution and content evaluation. We discussed content creation, with a focus on creating a persona, regularly writing a blog, and learning the basics of SEO. Additionally, we discussed LinkedIn, Twitter and a seriously underrated tool... Email. Participants gained a better understanding Google AdWords & Analytics, website design, and how to monitor social media activity.
