Dear Colleagues:

Please join us for a Manfred-Wörner-Seminar alumni/ae luncheon at 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, at The Metropolitan Club in Washington, D.C. Our topic for discussion will be:

"Regime Change in Berlin?: Potential Implications for Transatlantic Relations"

We are pleased to have fellow MWS alum, Ulf Gartzke, Director of the Hanns Seidel Foundation's Washington Office, kick off our meeting with some comments about the domestic political situation in Germany. Afterward, we will have an informal conversation over lunch.

Ulf Gartzke has been the Director of the Hanns-Seidel-Foundation’s Washington Office since July 2004. The Hanns-Seidel-Foundation (HSF) is a political not-for-profit organization closely affiliated with Bavaria’s ruling conservative Christian Social Union (CSU) party. Prior to joining the HSF, Ulf worked at the World Economic Forum in Geneva, DaimlerChrysler’s Washington Affairs Office, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the World Bank in Paris, and the CSU party headquarters in Munich. He studied political science and international relations at the University of Augsburg in Germany, Georgetown University, the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) in Paris, and the London School of Economics. Ulf is a 2002 alumnus of the Manfred-W?r-Seminar.

The cost for this lunch is $25. Seating is Limited to 18 Participants.
